    This is an Astronomy and Science Quiz which tests one's conceptual ability as well as regular updates in astronomical and scientific discoveries . Participants with keen knowledge and passion about both the fields will have higher rate of success and a curiosity satisfying experience . We believe in curiosity hence, No restrictions are provided with the educational streams, anyone from any educational background may participate in the Torquest. Let your curiosity be ready with it's battle gear !!!!

  • Structure

    Round 1 : Eliminations

    There are 30 questions. Fifteen of those are astronomy, and fifteen are science-based.

    Each question will be displayed for 75 seconds.

    No question will be repeated.

    Each answer in the Google form is a text field. Spelling errors, alternate names for the answer (if any) are allowed.

    You are allowed a maximum of two disconnects from the meeting.

    Each question is for 1 point.

    The top 6 teams will advance to the finals.

    In case of a tie, teams who scored better on certain questions (marked with an *) will advance to the finals.

    In case of another tie, a rapid-fire round will be conducted before the finals. Each tied team will be asked three science trivia questions.

    In case that round is tied, all tied teams will be asked one question. The first team(s) to answer get(s) to the finals.

    Answers to all questions will be shown after this presentation is finished. In case you want to challenge any answer, you can do so in this time period.

    The final results of the elimination round will be displayed on mind-spark.org/Torquest no later than half an hour after the round is over. A link to the next meet, as well as the timing for it, will be posted.

    Everyone who can attend, including non-finalists, is invited to attend the final round of Torquest-2020.


    Round 2 : Finals

    There are 4 rounds of 6 questions each

    Each team has 90 seconds to answer the question allotted to them.

    No question will be repeated after the round is over

    Only the team who the question has been given to is allowed to answer.

    You are allowed a maximum of two disconnects from the meeting.

    Each question is for 10 points. An incorrect answer will result in -2 points. If a team is unable to answer, the question will be passed to the next team, who will have 10 seconds to answer. If no team is able to answer, then the question will be open to the audience, if any.

    In case of a tie after 4 rounds, a special tiebreaker round will be conducted for those teams only. If there is still a tie, then a rapid-fire round will be conducted.

    Answers to all questions will be shown after this presentation is finished. In case you want to challenge any answer, you can do so in this time period.

    The winners should leave their bank details with us for transfering the prize.


    TEAM AND FEE STRUCTURE:

    Team Size : Individual (lone wolf) participants only.

    Registration Fee : Rs. 50 per participant.

  • Rules

    1. Quiz master’s decision will be final and binding to all.

    2. Platform :- Google Meets + Google Forms

    3. Use of any form of cheating, Google or the internet is strictly prohibited. Any team found in such an act will be disqualified at the very moment .

    4. Participants should carry their registration receipts, in case asked to produce one.

    5. Rules may be changed without prior intimation. Participants are requested to check the official MindSpark’20 website regularly for updates.

    6. In case of any disputes, the decision taken by the organizers will be considered final and binding to all.

    7. Participants should ensure a good internet connection, laptops, electronic tablets, mobile devices etc. Organizers will not be responsible for internet lag, or technical issues faced by the participants.

    8. In case of any technical issues, participants to inform the organizers on the given contact numbers.
