Genius Junior aims to provide school students with an insight into engineering. The students will benefit by gaining exposure to engineering life and getting the motivation to work hard and get into COEP or any other top engineering college. They will also get to experience one of the best national-level tech fests. The preliminary round is based on Mathematics, Science, English, General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning.

Genius Junior (GJ) is a national school-level examination conducted under MindSpark, the annual tech fest of COEP Technological University. This year, the dates of MindSpark are 18th, 19th and 20th October.

Preliminary Round :

• Exam Structure : MCQ test based on Mathematics, Science, English, General Knowledge and Mental Ability.

  Total number of questions - 30

  Total marks - 100

  Test Duration - 35 minutes

• Evaluation :

  Mathematics, Science, Grammar – 3 marks per question

  General Knowledge, Logical reasoning – 4 marks per question

• Conduct of Exam : Genius Junior (GJ) is a national school-level examination conducted under MindSpark, the annual tech fest of COEP Technological University. This year, the dates of Genius Junior are from 15th July 2024 to 24th August 2024. For schools with a low participation count, students may be asked to attend the test at a nearby school.
• Eligibility for the final round : The top 5 students from each standard per school will be selected for the final round.

Final Round :

• Event Structure : This round will be conducted in two parts. In the first part, a guest lecture will be held on a topic not previously taught to the students. The students will be tested on what they learned during the lecture. Based on test scores, teams of 4 students from each grade of the top schools will be selected for round 2 For the second part, a quiz round will be conducted between the top schools selected for this round, and the top 3 schools will receive prizes.
• Selection Criteria : The top schools will be selected based on the maximum scores achieved by a particular school, which will be the average of the total individual scores of all the students from that school. The team of 4 students from each school will be selected for the quiz round based on the top scorer from each standard of that particular school.
• Conduct of Final round : The final round will be conducted on one of the three days of MindSpark, i.e., 18th, 19th or 20th October 2024. It will be held on the campus of COEP Technological University.

Fee Structure :

• This is an individual event.
• The fees for the event are Rs.50 per student which would be collected from the students before the preliminary round.
